| Dougie, Captain of Solar Whisper |
Just before the Daintree River Ferry on the south side is Solar Whisper cruises and if you are lucky, your cruise will be captained by Dougie dog. David White, the owner of the solar-powered vessel, presents Days of the Daintree on social media. Birds, frogs, snakes, flying foxes and crabs are all stars of the show but the biggest celebrities are the crocodiles, the apex predators of the Daintree River. The king is Scarface and his queen is Lizzie but Scuter, Mary, Nate, Bung Eye, Dusty and Big Nick also inhabit this stretch of the river.
