In August during lockdown, I flew over Green Island. This month, I snorkelled Green Island, hoping to see turtles. I saw a couple of endangered green sea turtles from the pier as well as lots of colourful fish.

I have an abundance of frogs. Two new species have turned up on my block.
Litoria nasuta (striped rocket frog) appeared in great noisy numbers before the rains even started. They must be ventriloquists because they are very hard to find in the long grass.
A single
Litoria infrafrenata (white-lipped tree frog) also appeared. They are common in the Daintree but I have neither seen nor heard one here. They are the largest tree frog. It must be a female because it isn’t calling.

The Daintree Seniors’ Circle of Wisdom Christmas party was held at the Entomological Museum in Diwan at the foot of Wundu (Thornton Peak). There is a picnic area alongside a rainforest swimming hole.

Christmas Day was overcast and steamy but a good time was had by all at Daintree Crocodylus Resort. Rudolph and Santa both put in an appearance and the food was excellent.
