I have an abundance of frogs. Three new species have turned up on my block. Litoria nasuta (striped rocket frog) appeared in great noisy numbers before the rains even started. They must be ventriloquists because they are very hard to find in the long grass.
A single Litoria infrafrenata (white-lipped tree frog) appeared. They are common in the Daintree but I had never seen or heard one on my block. They are the largest tree frog. It must be a female because it is not calling.
Boxing Day night was extremely noisy and FrogID has identified another species in my recordings - Platyplectrum ornatum (ornate burrowing frog). It just makes irregular clicks so I can’t even hear it amongst my noisier residents.
